Do you like to set and achieve your goals? Many of us do.  For others even the idea of setting a goal makes us want to run the other way. But if you want to make changes in your life and you don’t set a goal, how will you even know when you get there?

How would you like to easily boost your motivation to achieve your goals? Imagine what it would be like to be able to easily achieve that goal, to be successfully making that change in your life. And then think about how your life would be different with that goal successfully achieved, and those changes firmly rooted into your life. What would your life look like with that goal successfully achieved? What would you say to yourself as you successfully achieved that goal? What would you hear other people say? How would you feel about yourself?

Use the following exercise to increase your motivation:

  1. Identify a goal you wish to become more passionate about. Make sure it is stated in the positive. For example, “I want to be more passionate about exercising.”
  2. List reasons you want to achieve this goal. Also write the answers to the questions listed above.
  3. Close your eyes and imagine having already achieved that goal, notice what that success looks, sounds and feels like.
  4. Write the 1st step in achieving that goal?
  5. Take that step

Expanding your perspective, visualizing and adding details to your goal will help you achieve it.
