Most of us would love to feel more inspired more often. Feeling inspired can bring passion and purpose into our lives, make us feel alive and brighten our outlook on life. So how do we become more inspired? How do we invite more inspiration into our lives?
Give this guided meditation a try.
1. Sit comfortably, take a deep breath and as you exhale close your eyes and begin to relax.
2. Allow yourself to think about moments of inspiration and creativity you’ve experienced in your life whether large or small.
3. Also think about some moments when you wish you’d felt more inspired.
4. Now, using your imagination, picture yourself as an inventor, working away in your own studio or laboratory. Imagine the space as brightly lit, and imagine feeling joyful, light and extremely intelligent.
5. Now see yourself suddenly inspired by some brilliant idea. (It doesn’t matter whether or not you can identify this idea to yourself.) Just feel the excitement you have, as you are inspired with this brilliant idea. Notice where in your body you feel the feelings and allow them to grow and spread throughout your entire body, feeling more and more excited….
6. Now imagine other people gathering around and being excited and impressed by your new idea. Imagine them shaking your hand and congratulating you. Take time to fully enjoy this experience!
7. Come back slowly and notice how inspired you feel.
